A Moving Child is a Learning Child Review

Right before Christmas I stumbled across this video about a book written by Gill Connell and Cheryl McCarthy called A Moving Child is a Learning Child.

Their synopsis: “Discover the early learning link between the body and the brain and how to guide this connection in young children!  Grounded in best practices and current research, A MOVING CHILD IS A LEARNING CHILD is both a hands-on resource for any classroom teacher, care provider, or parent and an ideal tool for coaches, mentors, and professional development trainers.”

Since half of our products are made to be used with movement activities,  I am loving the power of the internet to share information and ideas that will benefit our children and communities.  Check it out and leave some comments!

The Connect-a-Band Hub

Introducing  – the HUB.

Hub 8 I have recently realized that I am an implementer of other visionary minds.  At the beginning my sister would say I need  a case for my Omnichord, bean bags, stretchy bands….the “birth” of our business.  My husband would see a bag, but want to make it custom for him, the paw pack was created.  Cristal had the idea for the stretchy band to be straight – tada – the connect-a-band.  That got my husband’s creative juices flowing, and here comes the HUB.  I love how we can all work together to create items, and even better, is seeing and hearing how they are being used.

The HUB brings a whole new dimension to the possibilities of the Connect-a-Band.  The HUB will be offered in 6, 8,10, and 12.  One inch strapping with alternating 1 inch buckles are sewn into a round leather disc with a grommet circle.  You can connect a band to each buckle, making 6,8,10,12 armed Hubs, or as pictured, turn the bands into a spoked wheel, a gear, flowers or clovers.

Connect-a-Band Hub Four small connect-a-bands can be connected to create each size offered. Two will equal a medium, three together make large, and all four will create the XL. It’s been fun to watch this new product unfold, and we keep discovering more exciting options with it! Connect-a-BandIn other Bear Paw Creek news, we have added two new international customers.  Last week we sent a batch of stretchy bands to Singapore!  I was excited to get connected with Lavina Chong and read about the classes she is offering. Also, Harold of Le Comptoir Americain inquired about our drawstring bag sets. He is adding the bandana bag set to his made in America store in France.  The vision behind Le Comptoir Americain of selling quality, all American made products, is pretty awesome. Our first international customer, Empire Music in Canada,  recently emailed me and said “the products are flying off the shelves.”

I am thankful for all our customers support and hope our products and business bring joy and fulfillment to those that use them.  Here is a picture of one of my “joys”.
