Jump on Board the Stretchy Band Train Music Games Activities

Back in 1997 I started to work at a child care center in Alaska.  I worked in the two year old room and loved it.  My sister made me a circle time tape and book that I still use with my kids today.  It has been the building block of all my circle time planning since those days.  We were listening to the now converted to cd music the other day and the song “Little Red Caboose” by Sweet Honey in the Rock came on.  You can buy that song here.  I thought how fun it would be to use the connect-a-stretchy band to make a train.

This can be done in many different variations and you could also use the stretchy band  to accomplish this.  In this video we used two connect-a-stretchy bands as the sides of the train and made the motions of the wheels going around.

I had fun making some tickets for the kids.  You can print mine out here, or let the kids make their own versions.

“Riding on Train” by The Young Music Company

I love this song and the kids did too! It’s one that is easy to learn and sing along with.  Here we took the connect-a-stretchy bands and made them into train cars, linking them together.  You could easily put two to three children in each "car."
