Stretchy Band “Movin’ in the Circle” Creative Movement Song

Stretchy Band "Movin' in the Circle" Creative Movement Song

A year ago my sister came for a visit and we were able to do a video shoot using the Stretchy Band™.  I am so excited to FINALLY have the first video up and ready for sharing.  This video focuses on using the stretchy band to teach motor skills, spatial awareness, and social interaction. Rachel Rambach MM, MT-BC from Listen and Learn wrote an engaging song to use with the Stretchy Band™.  It is available for digital download from her site and ours.

People often ask me what I sew, and I start the list: stretchy bands, bags and totes, instrument cases, bean bags, etc….they inadvertently say – “what is a stretchy band?”  Now, not only can I tell them, but they can have a visual to go with it!

The Song

This song was written by Rachel Rambach of Listen Learn Music and is available for download for $3.

This song is designed to be used in a group setting, using the stretchy band while seated on the floor. There are all kinds of movements that can be done in this manner, and the song lists just a few.

Some of the goals addressed in the song:

  •     Improve group cohesion
  •     Improve gross motor skills
  •     Increase socialization through peer interaction
  •     Improve ability to follow directions
  •     Increase directional awareness
